*”F I N A L E S S A Y”*
What’s good about South Central right now is my school. I think many things can improve in South Central, like Housing , Education, and violence. Drugs can also improve in South Central because it takes people’s life and it should just stop. Overall, I actually do like living in South Central because there’s a lot of friends and people I admire. I also like living here because this is where I was raised. I do like going to school here in South Central but sometimes only.
The three most important events that have had the greatest impact on making South Central,LA what it is today are Gang History, Immigration, and Crack Epidemic. The first event that has made South Central the greatest impact on making South Central LA, is Gang History. This was important because gangs were first brought here and they were actually good people. Until then people started making there own gangs which led to extreme gang violence today. What I know was that there was this leader name bunchy Carter who started some gang and was a good guy because he wanted to help out the community. i choose this topic because it was important and it has to do with life today.
The second event that has made South Central what it is today is Immigration. What I know is that many people from different country’s come here to the United States. they come here for a better life and better jobs. immigration started because of this and like we seen in the movie Innocent Voices, many people were leaving because of the war and how dangerous it got there. This is important because today there’s many people that immigrate from their country to here and their is people who actually have had the chance to stay here today. I choose this because it relates to my family and it takes life today.
The third event that has made South Central what it is today is Crack Epidemic. This event is important because drugs like cocaine have took young people’s life. This also spread around cities including La. I know that people would usually sell drugs today and would even give up anything like money for these drugs. I choose this event because in life this event still happens everyday and everywhere.
The three events that I talked about were Gang History, Immigration, and Crack Epidemic. I think south Central will change later but it takes time for it. I think it can change if everybody recently tries to do what’s best out here. This includes like Gang violence, Drugs, and more. I think it would be better later on but we just need to have passion and to be patient. :)
Bunchy Carter was born October 12, 1942. He was born in Los angeles and died 1969. The Panthers would do something in a group. They would set up an office and start a breakfast program for the kids in the area. He was the main Leader. They would also want to improve housing, education, food, and jobs in the ghetto and stop Police Brutality. One accomplishment that this leader did was convincing the Slausons to join the Panthers. In my opinion, what made bunchy Carter a great leader was that he turned Slausons into Panthers and gave a speech. He was influenced by Malcom X.
